Jakarta. Jakarta-based meal kit delivery service BlackGarlic has launched a subscription box service for families to plan their weekly meals.
By subscribing to BlackGarlic, customers will have groceries and recipes delivered to them every week. They can choose the menu themselves or have it recommended by the company’s experts.
Various payment methods are available to Black Garlic’s customers, including its own e-payment service “Saldo BG,” in which money can be kept for future purchases.
BlackGarlic was established in July 2015, by Michael Saputra, Willy Haryanto, Olivia Wongso and Ardo Adiwidjaja, who observed among Jakarta’s residents the habit of buying takeout meals — a rather costly practice.
Taking affordability and practicality into account, BlackGarlic provides ready-to-cook groceries and simple yet high-quality recipes. The recipes have been created by celebrity chef William Wongso.
Every week BlackGarlick offers 11 variations of breakfast, main courses (lunch and dinner), kids’ meals and desserts.
BlacGarlic chief executive and founder Michael Saputra hopes to serve a clever solution for Indonesian families to save time and money on homemade restaurant-quality meals.
“Cooking with BlackGarlic can bond families, give them restaurant-quality cooking experience and help them plan varied menus so that they won’t get bored with the same meals,” he said.
